change the general settings email

  I want to change the general settings email but I get this message:

  This address is used for admin purposes. If you change this we will send you an email at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed. There is a pending change of the admin email to (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  I never get the email to confirm. How can I change it?

  Hi,

  The account email address of a WordPress.com site is found at, and may be changed at, Account Settings (https://wordpress.com/me/account), not at General Settings (https://wordpress.com/settings/general) . Are you referring to a WordPress.com site?

  The setting you’re referring to only exists on self-hosted sites using the open source version of WordPress found on WordPress.org.
