Change the Milestone Widget countdown from months to weeks or days?

I am trying to change Milestone Widget countdown to weeks or days instead of months when the countdown is over 1 month but less than 2 months. I noticed a number of comments in this in the support forums so this is clearly a somewhat common issue but I didn’t see a solution. Right now my event is 7 weeks away but the widget says 1 month which is really a bit misleading. It would be really nice if it could list weeks or even days at this point… seems like it could be an easy fix but I can’t figure out how to do it. thanks!
