Change the "number of posts on screen"
-
I had set the “number of posts on screen” in the POSTS section to 999 and now when I click on Posts I get the error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted ….
i have tried increasing the memory in steps .. all the way to 512MB. Its no use. The error still appears.
In which file in wordpress is the setting for “number of posts on screen” located . Then I could probably edit it to a lower valueplease help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your name is empty. Please provide a link to the blog you are asking about starting with http://
If you do in fact have a WordPress.COM blog, then you can set the number of post displayed on your home page:
Dashboard—>Settings—>Reading Settings—>Blog pages show at most—>Save -
999 is a HUGE number of posts to display on your front page and would for most people time out before the page could possibly load! Even with a high speed internet connection. Why not categorize your posts, or use an archive widget to help potential readers to find posts they are interested in.
Why would anyone want to read nearly a thousand old posts???
(mostly opinion here, but specifically for a wp.COM blog:
just in case you need to see the difference between .COM and .ORG) -

What Tess1 pointed out is if you are referring to a WordPress.org install then you are posting to the wrong support forum.
She asked for a link to the blog you are referring to and you failed to provide one.

I have blogged for 6 years and what I am saying is that 50 – 20 posts on the front page of any blog is ridiculous. Page loading time is a page ranking factor. Under 5 posts of 500 words each on the front page is the normal range for most blogs.

We can’t do the above here which tells me you have a self-hosted site and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted sites are supported.
That said, nothing is held in “files” with wordpress. Everything (except media files) are in the MySQL database.

I’m thinking that the OP has realized the difference between wp.com and wp.org because his username is no longer linked to his wp.com “site”
but
I apologize for any confusion I may have caused by giving him/her, on the off-chance, an answer specific to our platform here.
