Change the position of my comment field

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello everyone!

    I am not really good in any kind of software programs but I actually do my best. I have a problem with my comment fields. They are currently right under my post but directly behind the tags so my readers cannot find them at all?

    Does anyone know how I can change it?

    Thanks a lot and have a great weekend!

    Monique

    Hello!

    I can see your comments. Comments appear to only show-up when a user clicks on the post.

    Enable or Disable Comments

    I would also advise that you take off your email email address as you will open your self-up to all kinds of SPAM.

    Instead, I’d suggest putting a contact form to replace your email. When users fill out the form it will be sent to your email address. Such a form helps fool SPAM-bots.

    Thank you so much!

    Unfortunately it does not work. I tried to add the contact form and there is still my name and email address, how can I remove it?

    Or what do you exactly mean to take off my email address? Does it appear anywhere else?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hello!

    Were you able to resolve your comment problem?

    The contact form automattically shows your name and email address. Users visiting the site do not see it.

    Email address here: http://mooffduty.com/contact/
    Should consider just replacing it with a contact form:
    Something like this

    Feel Free to contact me below.
    INSERT CONTACT FORM HERE

    Email address here: http://mooffduty.com/impressum-2/
    Should consider deleting it and including some text like “Click here to contact me” and then linking it to your contact page.

    Thank you so much! You helped me a lot! I have changed the email addresses and added the contact form, this is much better.

    But what I think is if you first see my blog and the start page you won’t see the comment field under the post, only if you click on the post title but I guess not everyone will click on it so they can easily oversee the comment field. What do you think?

    I am glad it all worked out! =)
    It is just part of WordPress. Comments are only on the posts themselves not the front page. I’d imagine if comments were allowed on the front-page your website may take forever to load. Most users will wait anywhere between 1-3 seconds for a website to load completely, any longer and they leave.

    See loading times for your website here:

    Thank you so much! It all worked out in the end i bought a new Premium Theme, so everything should be finde.

    But I have still another question: do you know how to create any subcategories under my menue (e.g. under “Home”, the category “Fashion”) and if you click on it all fashion posts will appear?

    Many thanks in advance and have a great Sunday!

    Yes. The procedure is to create a custom menu

    I am sorry but I have still another question: do you know how to adopt the mobile Version of my new Theme? It is not good looking at the moment but it should Look the same as on regular PC.

    Thank you!

    WordPress themes are mobile responsive.
    You can view information about the mobile responsiveness of your theme here: https://wordpress.com/themes/hive/ or here

    If you have any additional questions you might consider posting them in the specific premium theme forum.

    Hi Monique, I took a look at your site and all looks good except for the title, which due to large font size, and your use of dashes between the words is breaking strangely since there isn’t any clear place for WordPress to break it (it’s seeing the dashes as characters). This seems to be an issue at about 690px and narrower, so what we can do is to use a couple Media Query to reduce the size of your site title for screens and/or browser windows at that point. I’ve used 690px as the first breakpoint and 480px as the second. In the 480px media query, I have also sized the site description/tagline down so it doesn’t compete with the site title. Give the following CSS a try and see what you think. It should be pasted at the very bottom of your custom CSS so that there isn’t a possibility of something else overriding it.

    @media screen and (max-width: 690px) {
      .wf-active .site-title {
        font-size: 60px;
      }
    }

    @media screen and (max-width: 480px) {
      .wf-active .site-title {
        font-size: 36px;
      }
      .site-description {
        font-size: .75em;
      }
    }

    Hi, thank you so much, you really helped me a lot! I have copied the code and it looks fantastic now! :)

    Do you know is there any possibility to change the writing within the posts?

    I would also like to add some widgets which I have already created but there isn’t any sidebar or they do not appear at the side. I have added them to the sidebar but nothing happened.

    Thank you once again!

    Great, glad that did what you wanted it to do.

    When you say “change the writing within the posts” exactly what are you wanting to change? Font size, line spacing, color?

    On the widgets, Hive shows widgets only on the single post pages, such as this one, http://mooffduty.com/2014/11/30/sneak-peek-hellor-mr-officer/ . There is no way to add widgets to the main page or any of the other pages (about, categories, archives, etc.).

    Hello and thank you for your answer! Please apologize my late response due to high work load.

    I actually mean the font size, line spacing and colour ;) are there any opportunities?

    Once againg thank you very much!

    You are welcome, and no worries on your late response. Stuff can get in the way. :)

    To increase the font size, line spacing and color of the entry content, add the following CSS and then adjust the values as desired. The values in the below are the current values/color.

    .single .entry-content p, .page .entry-content p {
        font-size: 15px;
        line-height: 1.5;
        color: #3d3e40;
    }
