change the setting of a table

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi guys, I have been looking for an answer for over 3 hours now… maybe someone can help me! :)
    I am using Edin Theme.
I uploaded a table from google.doc. So far it is working well… however, I want to remove the padding (left/right) and the scrolling bar (I was thinking of increasing the height to do so)
First good new… I tried it via google inspector.. and it worked! it is perfect!…
The problem is… I can’t figure out how to put it in the CSS editor.
Maybe I do not have the right selector…
I am struggling here… I also tried to do it via htlm (in the page itself)… it is not working either…
    Can someone help me?
    Thank you!

  • Hi lababicheboheme.

You probably do have the right selectors but you can not apply CSS to HTML that is loaded in an iframe, unless you have control over the page loaded in the iframe due to cross-domain resource restrictions, and since it is from Google you don’t have control over that page.

If you look at the iframe embed code from Google you should see height:486px, that you can change to make it taller so you don’t get the scroll bar.

    Hi,
    First, thank you time!
Actually it is my table…. so I guess I should have control?
Yes, this is exactly the height I was trying to change, the code I copied into the page was:
    [googleapps domain="docs" dir="document/d/e/2PACX-1vQrMEHW1L-L4dPg0hm4NkAzhSssbl2YmR_a9a9-7rfDjEFx40AHwgLfw2YEPK2hotKj6mvm4nM3Wmf-/pub" query="embedded=true" /]
I am trying to change the height, but it is not working.
    On the CSS editor,
    I tried with
    .c22 { height: 680px;}
    but it is not working…

*thank you for your time ;-)

  • You wont be able to target that selector as it is part of the iframe. If you go to you Google Sheet and click on File > Publish to Web and then select Embed, choose your sheet and click on Publish you should get code that starts with <iframe

If you paste that here I can edit it for you to increase the height.

  • Try to paste this in your post – it should take care of the height.

    [googleapps domain="docs" dir="document/d/e/2PACX-1vQrMEHW1L-L4dPg0hm4NkAzhSssbl2YmR_a9a9-7rfDjEFx40AHwgLfw2YEPK2hotKj6mvm4nM3Wmf-/pub" query="embedded=true" height="1280px" /]

OMG! you are an angel! wow! I did not put the “” that is why it wasn’t working!
Do you have any idea to remove the padding there? same thing padding=”0″ is not working…

  • Try this – The only thing that I changed is the part that says query=”embedded=true” to query=”embedded=false”. That is the part that adds the padding around the sheet.

    [googleapps domain="docs" dir="document/d/e/2PACX-1vQrMEHW1L-L4dPg0hm4NkAzhSssbl2YmR_a9a9-7rfDjEFx40AHwgLfw2YEPK2hotKj6mvm4nM3Wmf-/pub" query="embedded=false" height="1280px" /]

  • Sorry! Forgot to add it as code! Here it is again incase it got formatted differently.

    [googleapps domain="docs" dir="document/d/e/2PACX-1vQrMEHW1L-L4dPg0hm4NkAzhSssbl2YmR_a9a9-7rfDjEFx40AHwgLfw2YEPK2hotKj6mvm4nM3Wmf-/pub" query="embedded=false" height="1280px" /]

  • But it does add some extra info from Google at the top and bottom.

ok yes thank you! I will deal with the google stuff…! It is better without the padding! Thank you again wow
