Change the size of a slideshow
-
We would like to change the size of a slideshow to suit panoramic style photos rather than 4×3 type images. Currently when we put panoramic images in the slide show it leaves a large blank space top and bottom. Expound theme.

Hi there, I’ve checked a number of pages on your site and do not see a slideshow. Can you point me to a page with a slideshow? In general, resizing slideshows can be tricky on responsive designed themes such as Expound, but I’ll see what I can do.

Hi, It is on the home page of the adminkdhs.wordpress.com blog
If you click on the link above you should see 4 photos one of which is a panoramic format. -
Hi, sorry, the images were not advancing for me. It could have been my internet connection which has been a bit flakey today. You can give the following a try which sizes things for the one image in your slideshow that is more of a panoramic. Do note that all of your slideshow images on your main page slideshow will have to be panoramic and if the exact same proportions. The original bottom padding was 56.25%.
.home div.slideshow-window { padding-bottom: 36% !important; } -
Hi, you guys really are very good…thanks heaps it worked wonderfully. Yes we had just thrown a panoramic size one in there to trial and will swap the others over. If we wanted to have the photos extend right out the white edges, would this be possible?

Great, and thanks.

I just took a look at the HTML and the CSS, and don’t see a way to do that cleanly since the slideshow is in the same parent div and the rest of the page content. If we take away the left/right padding, the text would also bump up against the edges of the white area and make it difficult to read. You could try the following, which reduces the left and right padding (which was 40px) and see what you think.
.home.expound-full-width .site-content article { padding-right: 20px; padding-left: 20px; }Again, I’ve limited this change to the home page only.
