change the size of the picture

The site want the picture to be 1080 × 500 but I would like to have a smaller size picture

@moviereview348: The theme automatically crops the image at 1080 × 500 and there isn’t a way to prevent that cropping using custom css.
We could, however, use CSS to decrease the amount of space the image takes up. As the size of the actual image wouldn’t be reduced, however, this could create some loss in quality.
It may be better to choose another theme that looks closer to the design you want by default. Do you have any examples of sites that you’re trying to replicate?
