Change the size of the Text of the Link at the top

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying out wordpress and can almost make a nice looking site.

There appears to be no obvious way to alter the size of the link / header at the top which takes me to my homepage.

It is currently far smaller than all of the headers in the theme so looks silly.

Currently there appears to be a block with a hyper link at the very top. Beneath this there is a large section of text which states “HOME”. This does not appear in the preview.

Does anyone know where the section to edit the attributes of this link? Or why the text “Home” does not appear?

When I open the HTML the code appears absent.

I find this very confusing as I cannot find a simple way to way to alter this ether through the GUI or code.

    Thank you for your thoughts

    Richard

  • Hi Richard –

Since you’re on our free plan CSS isn’t an option for theme customization. That’s what we’d need to use in order to increase the font size in the menu.

My suggestion would be to reduce the font size of My Projects to make that difference less noticeable. Otherwise, you could even try a different theme where the menu is displayed more desirably. Click on My Sites – Design – Theme or go to https://wordpress.com/themes/

If you’d like to pursuit the CSS option that requires an upgrade to the premium plan. Details at https://wordpress.com/pricing/ I personally wouldn’t upgrade for one little piece of customization though.
