Change the spelling in blog address?

    Hello. Is it possible to change the spelling for the address of our group blog? Silly me – used a Hindi spelling instead of the Buddhist one. We need to change just one letter. How? I don’t see this possibility in the dashboard or anywhere. Thanks!

    You cannot edit a URL. If you want to change the .wordpress.com blog address ie. the URL starting with http:// then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that, and the URL you desire must be available. If so, then you can change the URL by using this guide

    Changing a URL is a permanent and irreversible act. No changed or deleted blog URLs are recycled here, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

    DN: IF IT’S A NEW BLOG, (we don’t need a new blog per se, just a change in spelling), THEN WE LOSE THE PAGES IN THE ORIGINAL BLOG UNLESS WE REDIRECT? SINCE IT’S A PRIVATE GROUP, WOULD EVERYONE HAVE TO BE INVITED TO THE “NEW” BLOG? OR WOULD THEY AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT INTO IT B/C IT’S JUST A CHANGE OF ADDRESS?

    DN: DOES THIS MEAN we can choose to also KEEP THE OLD ORIGINAL ADDRESS? THEN, IF We DO NOT KEEP THE OLD ADDRESS, We DO NOT NEED TO DO A REDIRECT UPGRADE?

    Answering my own question now….Re-reading, I’m understanding the last part to mean:
    if we keep the address (new one, b/c they already said you will not have access to the old one) then you have to purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.
