  Hello,

  I am willing to change the URL of my personal site and need your help. I bought the domain name and I’m looking to make it as simple as possible. Above all, I want to avoid paying the business plan that some sites seem to mention.

  Hi E., to use a custom domain with a site here on WordPress.com, you will need a paid plan. It doesn’t have to be a business plan, though. Any of these paid options will work:
  https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Just choose one, then map the domain:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
