  Hi,
  To start with: I am a new member, and still unknown with all ‘usual uspect anwers’.
  I created a shell, so to speak, but now I want to change my theme. I found 3 themes I want to try out via: https://nl.wordpress.org/themes/tags/three-columns+custom-colors+custom-header+custom-menu+editor-style/
  But when I look for them in My Site, I cannot retrieve these. Why?
  What to do?

  Don’t look in WordPress.org if you have a WordPress.com site.

  Look here:- https://wordpress.com/themes/

  Let me change it around then: I want to use a theme from the .org site.
  What type of website do I need to create and where?

  For a rookie this is vert confusing.

  Please don’t make multiple posts about the same topic. It annoys the “happiness engineers” here. The link I gave you above are the only themes you can use on WordPress.com.

  If that other theme is so important to you, you’ll have to move to a self hosted WordPress.org setup.

  We are working with 2 persons, looking for anwers and we both had the same idea: use the forum. So that’s why this question popped up twice. Sorry for the inconvenience. We really appreciate the help.

  It was not clear to us that via My Site from .com, we would not be able to access the .org themes. It is very clear now, but also disappointing to us, because it was explained differently to us by other WordPress experts.

  Best wishes with your WordPress.org install. I started out that way but I now prefer the ease of use only found here at WordPress.com.

  @withatouchofrose: We do offer hundreds of hand-picked themes in the WordPress.com repository and you can filter based on the same criteria you used for WordPress.org here:
