There are 200 themes and we ca change as frequently as we wish to. Changing themes has no effect on the URL and no content is ever lost. You can go here > Appearance > Themes and select a new theme and activate it as many times as you choose to. This is the link to the Themes Showcase http://theme.wordpress.com/

Note: You don’t “delete” the current theme. You simply choose another one and activate it.

The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are found here > Appearance > Themes and there are 200 of them
