change theme – anything I need to save?

  Hi! After several years I want to change the theme of my blog. I am however afraid of losing content. Can someone explain if there such risk and the main steps to do so? I was told that I only need to click ‘change theme’ and everything now on the blog will position itself in the new theme but I kind of feel is a bit more complex than this.

  Hi,

  Content will not be lost, though some items might be displaced with a theme switch and need to be reassigned, typically including widgets and custom menus. If you’re using Custom CSS, you might have to restore that from revisions. See the Switch Themes section of the Themes support page regarding these issues.

  As @musicdoc1 mentioned, your content is safe – some widgets or menus may need to be shifted into the new theme layout but that’ about it :)
