Change Theme by category
-
Has anyone ever thought of writing a plug-in that would allow different themes to be assigned to different categories? Presently, I post in series. I develop a graphical look and feel for each series. When I move to the next series, I change the theme. Tonight I was thinking about how nice it would be if a person was browsing an archive or post in a certain category, the theme assigned to that category would be displayed. If a post had more than one category, the theme from the primary(first)category assigned would be displayed. Home and normal viewing would always display the current, default category.
Does anyone else think this would be a good idea? I would love to figure out how to write that plugin myself. I could probably model it but I am not confident I could figure out the syntax never having to work with PHP before.
Thanks

This is a multi-user wp-MU blogging platform. We don’t have plugins. The software from wordpress.org does have plugins and the open source community encourages everyone to contribute. Perhaps the plugin forum over there a place you should check out http://wordpress.org/tags/plugins and here’s a specific link for writing a plugin too http://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_a_Plugin
