Change theme file but prevent lost changes after update

  Hi guys,

  I was forced to change the code in some of the theme files. We use the Porto theme and due to the SEO strategy, some things in the templates are not well done, so we have to change them manually.
  We did this before updating the theme, but the new update override our changes.

  Is it possible to create a child file that will not be overrun by the new update? We are honestly scared to do any updating now!
