How can I change a theme layout from boxed to stretched?

Hello!

According to staff-loquaciousloon …

You can use My Site > Customize > Colors & Backgrounds to change the background color of your site to white (instead of the theme’s default of light gray). That will give the site more of a full width look.

Making the actual content section wider would require Custom CSS part of a Premium Plan or Business Plan). Even in that case, going to a true full screen content area wouldn’t be recommended, since really wide lines of text aren’t very good from a readability point of view :)
