Change Themes, better by upload the new one in WP or install it (->SEO)?

  Dear WP-Team,
  currently we are using WordPress already under http://www.fonlos.de. Now we would like to change the theme and I need to know, which way is better so that we do not loose our Search Engine Ranking: Install WP and new theme on an other FTP path and switch the redirect afterwards or use the current WP software and upload the new theme?
