Change title name for categories
-
Hi,
I’ve created a menu called Restaurant Reviews which is linked to blog posts categories tagged “Restaurant reviews”.
When you click on the menu item “Restaurant Reviews” the top title shows “category archives : restaurant reviews”
How do I change this title?
Thanks,
Merv
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Merv,
This should do it:
.category-restaurant-reviews h1.page-title { display: none; } -
Hi Merv,
That bit above would completely remove the archive title. Do you mean that you’d like to change the wording of the page title?
-
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I would like to change the wording, not make it completely disappear.
Thanks,
Merv

It seems that this is the default way that the theme is displaying those archive posts:
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/gridspace/
You can remove the part that says “category archives:” and leave just the category name with this though:
.category .page-title .cat-title { display: none; }Then you can update the category name to display whatever you’d like.

Hi there, see how @jami0821 solution works for you and let is know. There is a bit of CSS trickery that can be used to hide existing text strings and then add back in new, but it will depend on exactly what you want to do. If the above doesn’t work for you, tell us exactly what you want it to say and we can take a look.
