  I am trying to figure out if i move to the 2.99/mo and change to my own domain do I lose the content and the SEO i’ve created through the years?

  Hi there,

  Think of adding a domain like putting a dust jacket on a book. It will look different form the outside, but the inside is unaffected.

  Adding a custom domain to your site only changes the link people will see in their browser when visiting your site, but the content won’t be affected in any way. The free URL will also still work, so all old links to your site that are out in the wild will also still take people to your site.

  You will experience a temporary drop in search engine traffic. Search engines will need to re-index your site at the new domain, and that can take a few weeks. But once that process completes you should go back to the same level of search engine traffic as you had before.
