Change to self hosting site

    I recently purchased a domain name and linked this with my wordpress.com (free) site. Since then I have purchased a web hosting site and downloaded wordpress.org. If i go onto my admin page (domainname.com/wp-admin) it will direct me to the dashboard of wordpress.org. However, if i go to view the changes/the site it will redirect me to the old wordpress.com site and dashboard.

    How do i delete the redirect of my domain to my wordpress.com site?

    Hi there,

    What is the domain? The account you’re using to post here has never had any domain upgrades connected to a site with us.

    If you’re referring to a literal redirect, that’s something that would have been set up at your domain provider, so you’d need to contact them to have it removed.

    Likewise, if you have the domain pointed to us via A records or name servers, that can only be changed on your domain provider’s end. We have no control over domains that aren’t registered directly with us.
