Change to "someone is now following you" emails?

I used to receive email notifications when someone started following my blog — those notifications included their email address, and a line like “We think they’re from [city].” Now I just get an email saying “someone” is following me, and that’s it. Is this a WordPress-wide change? I have not changed any of my settings.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, it is, and it’s been a while actually.

@mtairygal Go to your dashboard, click on ‘site stats’, scroll down page, you’ll see ‘Totals, Followers and Shares. Click the link ‘blog followers’. You’ll see each person’s Gravatar image and name (the name they have in their public profile) which you can click to see what’s in that profile, if they’ve put anything there. The link below is to their blog.

As for seeing where someone’s from, I am not aware of this being possible with the WordPress stat counter, yet. But you can often work it out yourself if you use an external stats counter. (For instance, if someone comments you can get the IP number of the comment from your comment administration page, then match it to those on the stats counter info and find out roughly where they are from).

I only get ” someone started following my blog ” if they are not from wordpress, if they are from wordpress it is normal.
