Change to subject heading for email subscriptions?

  Today I received email containing a post to our blog. The subject header is prefixed with “[New post]”. The prefix used to read “[Blog post]”.

  I agree the prefix in square brackets is a good idea, as it allows email users to use rules to sort their incoming email. But “[New post]” is not an improvement over “[Blog post]”. “New post” indicates this is not email containing an old post. That is not informative.

  The prefix should indicate which blog the post is coming from, to enable users to sort posts from different blogs they’re subscribed to.
