Change two column-design to one column in the baskerville theme
-
I just changed to the baskerville theme and I love it except for the two column-design. I tried changing it to one column in dashboard –> screen options, but the option isn’t there at all. How can I do this? Do I have to change it in the CSS? In case, how?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
On large screens your site http://banginberlin.com/ would actually display three columns of posts on the posts page if you had enough posts published.
Aside from the number and volume (which may be reduced with More tags) of published posts, other factors which determine the number of columns displayed on the posts page of the Baskerville theme include the screen size and zoom settings of the visitor. By modifying the zoom settings on my smallish desktop screen I was able to vary the number of columns on the Baskerville demo between one and three.

Changing zoom settings mimics the results of changing the screen size. So your posts page will display one column on small screens (such as phones, iPods, and small tablets), two columns on middle-sized screens (such as my 12″ x 9″ desktop monitor screen), and three columns on large screens.

I don’t know. You might resubmit the question to the CSS customization forum, or add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

The theme has a responsive design, so I think even with CSS customization the number of columns might vary depending upon screen size and zoom settings, as I’ve described above.
