Change Uploaded Video Thumbnail
-
I recently added a video to my media library, to be played using the WordPress Video Player. It seems that the upload process automatically selects a screenshot from midway through the video as its thumbnail. Unfortunately, the frame it selected is a terrible one for the video. Is there a way to change this thumbnail to something else?

Somebody asked the same question some days ago.
The answer was no there is no way.
Ofcourse if you could alter the length (or the key frames?) with video editing software that might be a workaround.
Or maybe try the same video and use Vodpod.
Or upload it to Youtube or similar and you’ll probably get a different keyframe.
Just ideas… -
Thanks for the quick response. Kind of a bummer to have to do this, but I guess I can add a few seconds of dead air at the end to move the thumbnail image. I just hate having to go through the import/export process all over again for something that should be easily adjustable right here.

I’ve heard of at least one person who posts a regular image and when you click on it, that takes you to a page with the video. Too roundabout for my taste, but you could do it that way if you wanted.
