Change URL A to B *but* wordpress says B is taken even though I took URL B

So my question is a bit confusing at first.
I want to change my URL from A to B (A=https://babyflores.wordpress.com to B=https://knucksandbows.wordpress.com). I thought the only way to do such was to export/import all content from A to B and found theres a good chance I’ll lose/confuse all my subscribers. Did some more research and lo and behold theres a simple way to change URL A to B! Perfect!? – Wait! NO!
I cannot change URL A to URL B because URL B is taken – taken by me. I’m afraid to delete URL B blog for fear that I still will not be able to change URL A to B.
So, now what do I do? I wanted to make it easy on subscribers and not make them follow another blog. Its a blog meant more for family or close friends and lot of them are from an older generation, computer related issues create havoc.

You’re correct – the easiest way to rename a blog is to use our blog rename tool. However, this only works when the new blog name doesn’t exist. Since you have already created the new blog, the only way to finish things the way you want is to export your content from the old site and then import it into the new one.
Once you’ve done this, and have your new site set up the way you want, I can transfer the subscribers from your old site to your new one if you’d like. Just let me know.
