Change URL for blog on Desktop (windows) app

The blog listing in my Windows app points to http://occupytheology.org , which is one of 5 domains that work for my blog. I want to change that to http://ecoecclesia.org. Is there a way to do that on the Windows app? Cant seem to find it. The app shows in the left side bar that my blog is pointing to occupytheology.org

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance for you.

  • @dlature, try this:

    Click on My Sites
    > Switch Site
    > Select the right site
    > Click Plan
    > Click Domains

Since you’re managing an upgrade, it’s done through the Plans link.

  • Ah, I missed that your site is on WordPress.org and you don’t have a plan through us.

We’re still adding features into the app. For now, you’ll want to go ahead and make this change online through wp-admin.

Ok, I upgraded to 1.1.2 (It wouldnt run as an upgrade to 1.1.1. Had to uninstall 1.1.1 and then run 1.1.2 setup. Now it tells me I have not published any posts yet. I do notice that now “My Site” lists me as Theoblogical wp.theoblogical.org , and this morning on my laptop, It was showing Theoblogical ecoecclesia.org. I have 3 domains that work for my blog. The other is occupytheology.org. I still need to be able to switch the “My Site” setting, and to understand how the Desktop version works with my self-hosted blog.

  • Oh, are you just changing between two different sites in the app?

If so, click on My Sites > Switch Sites.

  • Also, I do only see one site connected via Jetpack. So you will want to connect the others before they’ll show in the app.

no, one site, but the URL llisted under the Blog Name (Theoblogical) seems to change, and not sure what determines it. (3 domains all serve the same blog. I have the theme header customized so that the Blog Name changes according to how the user came in (one of 3 domains: theoblogical.org. occupytheology.org, or ecoecclesia.org )

  • Does each domain open a separate website, or do three domains all point to the same content?

    Same website/blog

  • Okay, you won’t be able to switch between domains using the desktop app. We are adding new features, but domain switching for WordPress.org sites is not one of them at this point.

You would need to use the web browser and wp-admin for that. Then you could reconnect Jetpack so it shows the correct domain. I hope that helps.
