Change URL for existing domain
-
I have setup a new wordpress site under the URL kuenzleknigge.com. However I would now like to replace my former website http://www.kuenzle-organisation.ch with the new wordpress site, i.e. people enter http://www.kuenzle-organisation.ch should reach my new wordpress site. How can I accomplish this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, you want to ask in the forums for WordPress.ORG, which is the version of the software you’re running.
-
No idea, where can I see this?
Or do you mean the Plan? I am running the Business Plan, i.e. everything included… -
Domain mapping I have tried. I get a message “domains starting with ‘www….’ cannot be mapped”
-
Ah, my mistake. Apologies, I got things backwards.
That is correct, domains beginning with www cannot be mapped. So map http://kuenzle-organisation.ch/ instead. It will work.
-
But that’s not what I need. Our clients, Google search engine, etc. know us as http://www.kuenzle-organisation.ch. If I change this, any references to our website will not work anymore, we’ll have to change all our marketing material, we’ll not appear in top ranks in Gooogle search anymore, … . Are there any other ways?

You will keep the URL. It will just point to the WP.com site.
Since that site is externally hosted, you could just put a javascript redirect on it, but you’d have to get that code from the WordPress.ORG forums.
