Change URL for wordpress.com NOT wordpress.org

  Hi – I see tons of posts about this, but no one seems to be addressing the simple problem that there are 2 versions of wordpress. wordpress.com is the FREE blog, wordpress.org is the downloadable software that you need a hosting package to use.

  The replies to solve the dilemma all address wordpress.org, but NOT the free blogs. So, the question remains, how do you change the actual URL of the free blog at wordpress.com? There seems to be nothing in the settings interface to do this.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That dashboard is for the software, not the .com, free blog. The dashboard for the free blog has a completely different interface.

  No, you’re wrong. See the part where the URL of the link includes “WordPress.com”???

  There is nothing in Settings to change a URL because a URL isn’t a setting. To change a URL at WordPress.com you either buy a custom domain and mapping or you follow these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
