Change URL in General Settings
-
I want to change ‘artbridgesnz.wordpress’ to our domain ‘artbridges.co.nz’.
When I tried to change the site address (URL) in the setting I couldn’t see this field nor the word press address (URL) field on the screen. Reading further, help mentioned something like changes in WP_SITEURL. I am not a webdesigner and can’t figure out how to do that, is there a simpler way to do that? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The instructions you refer to are for the wrong flavor of WordPress
You want to domain map your existing name to your WordPress.COM site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ $ 12– year
You also need a zone record added to your domain name – I will flag this for the staff to add a zone record for you.
For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I have manually added a zone record for your domain.
You should now be able to map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Thanks for all your help. We have registered for the domain and it is looking good. I just wonder if it is possible to change the main domain so that it has also the ‘www’ in front of our details (instead of – http://artbridges.co.nz/ that it reads http://www.artbridges.co.nz …. )
Kind regards,

No it is not possible to include “www”. This is stated here:
Also, please note that WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs. Any traffic to http://www.example.com will be redirected to example.com. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#before-upgrading-important-notes
