change url of blog

  When we started our blog we registered a certain url, but we found out that there are multiple ways of writing it. We chose to change the url to the way Venetians write it, but making sure to not discarding the old url, until we made a final decision on it.

  Now, after a trip back to Italy, we have decided that it is best to use the Italian way (andaracicchetti.wordpress.com) of writing instead of the Venetian way (andaracicheti.wordpress.com), but we are experiencing problems changing the url back to the old one.

  Can you help?

  What kind of problems are you facing? Could you please elaborate.
  Do try renaming the url by following the instructions here https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/.

  If you had deleted the site “andaracicchetti.wordpress.com” previously while renaming the URL to “andaracicheti.wordpress.com”, you are out of luck. You will not be able to get “andaraciccheti.wordpress.com” ever again if you had deleted it. Hope you haven’t deleted it.

  If you still have trouble, try creating a new blog with the new url and i think that will do the trick.You can move the content to the new one and delete the other later.

  Hi,
  We have followed the steps for changing the blog address, but I get “Sorry that site has already been used” as response when I try to change it. I have also tried creating a new blog with the new url, and then it says “Sorry that site already exists”

  When we changed the address at first I made sure I did not delete it, but can it be that something has gone wrong there? Is there any way to fix this?
