Change User Name?

  Hi, in the Support section it says that once you choose a wordpress user name you cannot change it. Then right below it it describes how you can change it. What is the final word, and if you can change it, how do you do it. Thanks, AC

  The username that you used to set up the account cannot be changed.

  What you can do though is to set up a new username and then set it up as an administrator on your current account. You will need two unique email addresses to do this as each account must have a unique email address.

  Your old username will still appear on the account though and still be the “owner” of the blog, but you will be able to log in and do your stuff from the new username.

  Also, if all you want to do is have a different name appear on posts and on comments on other blogs, then you can change your “display” name under users > your profile as outlined here: http://support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/ .
