Change user name..

    I had previously deleted mrttjr.wordpress.com.

    I was trying to get it back.

    It says it is taken yet when I look at the site, it says it is deleted.

    Which is it and how do I get it back?

    The authors have deleted this site.

    Your old site is definitely deleted. How long ago did you do it? If it was less than 30-days ago there’s a chance WordPress will let you have it back. More than that and I’m afraid it’s gone forever:

    Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address
