Change Username to a Blog You Own

  Hello,

  My username on WordPress is candian5757. I have 2 blogs. canadian5757.wordpress.com and jonpavelich.com. I am trying to change my username from canadian5757 to jonpavelich. Unfortunately, the blog jonpavelich.wordpress.com is already taken (by me). How can I change my username to jonpavelich and still have jonpavelich.wordpress.com?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The easiest way is to just change your display name which you can do at users > my profile in the dashboard. All of your posts and comments will then be reflect that new display name. Here in the forums, your actual username is always used rather than your “display name” but only here.

  If you want to activate that other username though, you will have to contact staff and get there help with that. support@wordpress.com

  So I will still sign in with “canadian5757”, but in my posts and replies on my blogs I’ll appear as “Jon Pavelich”?

  That’s correct. The “Display name” is what will appear next to your comments or posts (on themes that display the author name).
