We can’t be much of help as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform but uses the open source wordpress.org.
Changing a theme doesn’t affect your SEO or doens’t make you loose traffic.
Regarding the speed issues, you must trake a look in the documentation at wordpress.org. But it is a known issue that Elementor produces heavy and sloppy html resulting in long loading times on certain servers.
Elementor isn’t the miracle design tool as they claim to be. You can get the same result using our own Block Editor.

Switching to a lightweight theme and block editor like Kadence (https://www.kadencewp.com/) can improve speed and user experience, which can actually help your SEO rather than hurt it. You might also switch to premium caching plugin like FlyingPress (https://flyingpress.com) and image optimizer like Convertor For Media Pro (https://mattplugins.com/products/webp-converter-for-media-pro). You might also want to migrate hosting to Cloudways (https://www.cloudways.com/) or use Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/) to handle DNS resolution and serve content via their CDN.
The key is ensuring the transition is smooth. Keep the same URL structure, meta tags, and headings, and check that no important content disappears. After switching, track how search engines and users interact with your site. A plugin like Traffic Monitor (https://wordpress.org/plugins/traffic-monitor/) can help confirm that Google is still crawling your pages properly. Also, test your new theme’s speed with PageSpeed Insights before making it live. If done right, changing to a faster theme is a smart move. -
A civil lawyer would say it’s all about using the right tools—optimize your site just like handling a legal case.
