Change wordpress url to name I have already registered

  Hi,
  I have 2 sites with .wordpress.com domains.
  I would like to delete site1 and rename my second site url to site1.
  Is this possible?

  I am afraid to delete the site as it says the domain name will not be available again.

  Hi,
  It’s good that you didn’t delete your site. To put the content from site2 onto site1, export from one and import to the other.

  Start by removing the current content from site1, following the steps in this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

  Next, export the content from site2 by going to My Sites > WP Admin > Tools > Export and download the file.

  Then, import the content into site1 by switching to that site and going to My Sites > WP Admin > Tools > Import. Choose WordPress from the list and follow the instructions.

  At this point you’ll have the same content on both sites so you can make site2 private or you can delete it once you’ve confirmed that site1 has all the content.
