  Hi,

  I am look to change the above so it matches my new user name however I am worried if I do this it will delete my blog and all its content ?
  Please can you let me know what boxes I have to tick or leave to be able to just change the above but still keep the rest of my blog the same etc.

  Hey jessicaameliarose,

  You’re asking to transfer your website which will require you to transfer your website data from http://www.hairraisingrose.wordpress.com to http://www.baldbutbold.wordpress.com.

  Please check if http://www.baldbutbold.wordpress.com name is available. It will be just like creating a new website.

  Let me tell you the steps.

  1. Create http://www.baldbutbold.wordpress.com
  2. Export data from http://www.hairraisingrose.wordpress.com
  3. Import data to http://www.baldbutbold.wordpress.com

  Do some old settings and you’re good to go.

  As I have mentioned, you have to do all the previous settings including widgets. All the posts, pages, comments will get migrated.

  You can easily transfer the followers.

  Hi there,

  To change the free address of a WordPress.com site you need to follow these steps:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  It is very important that you DO NOT create the new address before trying this, so the steps you were given above is not correct. If you create the new address you’ll have to move everything manually, you’ll need to contact staff to move your followers and stats for you, you might not be able to activate the same theme you had on the original site, and Likes on posts will not be transferred at all.

  All that said, you will not be able to change your address to https://baldbutbold.wordpress.com/, as that site had already been created on WordPress.com before and have since been deleted. Deleting a site removes that address from use permanently and it cannot be re-used.
