Changed account name now can't create new wordpress site by the same name?
-
Hi, I decided to start a brand new wordpress.com blog so came to wordpress.com to register (the site name I wanted – bigheadm0de.wordpress.com – was not in use and available). WordPress told me that I held an existing account linked to my email address so I thought instead of creating a new account I’d rename the old defunct one (there was no site attached to it – it was deleted years ago).
I changed my account name to bigheadm0de and marked the option to change any existing blogs to the new name. I then proceeded to create my site and it tells me that bigheadm0de.wordpress.com now already exists! Upon typing this url into my address bar I get the message that the site has been deleted by the author.
It seems that wordpress has somehow linked my old deleted blog with the new name and I can’t use it to create the blog I wanted. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance for any assistance

Was the blog bigheadm0de.wordpress.com permanently deleted by you?
If so, its address/URL cannot be be used again, ever. Even if it was associated with your own account.

Hi Ehtis,
Thanks for your reply.
No it wasn’t deleted – it never existed. It was available to use until I changed my username and now it’s unavailable.
