Changed account’s email address – sent change link to wrong e-mail
-
Hi everyone,
I made a silly mistake and now I’m looking for some help. Thank you.
I wanted to change the e-mail address linked with my site. Unfortunately, I entered the e-mail address incorrectly when changing it. The address-change e-mail was therefore sent to someone else’s inbox.
I pressed cancel, and changed the e-mail address again. This time entering it correctly and receiving the address-change e-mail to my own inbox.
I’m still a little worried that if the person who received the first e-mail clicks on the link in their e-mail, my WordPress will be associated with their e-mail and they will have access to my account.
If anyone could advise, I’d be very grateful.
Thank you.

Hey there, the first link for changing the email address became invalid when you sent another change request. If for any reason someone managed to change the email address on you, you’d get a notification for that and an invitation to reach out directly to support if there were an issue. You should be good to go here.
If you’re looking for extra security, just in case, you can enable an extra layer of authentication. Just be sure to actually print or write down your backup codes and keep them someplace safe and memorable.
Does that help?
