Changed admin name
-
I changed my admin username from ‘admin’ to xxxx for security purposes. I’m the only one who administers or publishes on the website. Both usernames have the same name -mine. Since I didn’t want to lose all my previous posts, I kept the ‘admin’ account. To create a new admin account I had to use a different e-mail address (my personal email, not my business as with ‘admin’. I really only want to have one username with my business email account. If I delete the old ‘admin’ username account will I lose all the posts?

You’re welcome. It would be helpful if you provided the specific username accounts (the original) and the one you changed to.

Hi there,
That site is using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org. We have no control at all over your credentials for that site, as the details on each user on that site is stored in the site database itself, and your WordPress.com account/username has nothing to do with that.
For help fixing this, please post in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead, as the community there will be able to advise you on the process to fix this.
