Changed blog name, content MOVED

I just tried to change one of my blog’s URLS, and it was successful (to dirtonyourface). I kept my original blog URL available in case I wanted to use it (thebeautyodyssey).

However… when the change was made, WordPress automatically assigned the blog dirtonyourface as my default blog and essentially changed my original default blog’s address (womanfriday) to the new blog URL. Therefore, all my previous settings, content, and tools on my original blog, womanfriday, MOVED to the new blog URL, when I did not confirm nor want this.

Does anyone know how the hell this happened and how I can change womanfriday back to what it originally was, womanfriday?! That’s not the blog I requested to be changed, and so I am incredibly upset about this. So much for ease of use. I should just go back to Blogger.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • According to our records, http://womanfriday.wordpress.com/ is the blog that you changed to http://dirtonyourface.wordpress.com/

The blogs themselves can’t be changed back, but you can move your content back following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-between-wordpress-com-blogs

That’s not the blog I changed the name of; I would know because that was my primary blog and I purposefully chose thebeautyodyssey account to change.

What a pain in the butt this is. I have loved the beauty and streamlined nature of WordPress except for the primitive way they handle usernames, blog URLS, and profiles. This might be the thing that makes me switch to Blogger for good.
