changed domain name; now when trying to sign in—page is blank! Help!
-
Hi there. I changed my domain name in settings and then checked to see if it worked. It appeared to, other than HOME no longer worked. (I now realize that I set WordPress address (URL) to “http://www.helloremix.com” and “Site address (URL)” to “http://www.helloremix.com” when it should have been “http://www.helloremix.com/blog”.)
So I went back into Settings and tried to change it back and the page went blank. Now, when trying to sign in, the page goes blank—so I can ‘t get into my dashboard or anything.
I tried the “Changing the site URL method” and the “Relocate method” found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL, but neither worked.
Can anyone help me? I am very new to WP and not a programmer, but can follow instructions.
Thanks.

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

Well, I am not sure who are the keepers of this software, since it was downloaded from my hosting site and it has more options than the WordPress.ORG software.
I did however finally figure out my problem. I had set up my domain name add-on as “helloremix.com/blog”. So no matter how many fixes I tried, nothing was going to work as long as I was using the address: “helloremix.com”.
I only wish that the software had a fail-safe, so that if you unknowingly put in a bad URL, that it would just not take it instead of leaving you dead in the water.
I am definitely learning through this process—albeit, the HARD way.
