changed emailadress for validation
-
Safari has a (Dutch) spelling checker. The consequence is, that it ‘corrects’ my email-adress while typing, changing ‘don@…’ (which is an acronym of my name) to ‘dan@…’. Usually I am aware of this effect (though I can’t find the setting to end it), but this time it went wrong with the email address I had to use for confirmation of my new WordPress account. The email adress with ‘dan@’ does not exist, so I cannot confirm my account. I have tried to change the email adress to the correct one for my account, but that is not accepted. How to proceed? Thank you!

To quote staff from a similar thread:
you actually can change the address on the account, even if the first address was not confirmed. We know people will typo an address sometimes, so we built in functionality to fix it.
If you’re getting an error, it’s for some other reason. It looks like in your case, you actually already have a different account under the correct email address
I have tried to change the email adress to the correct one for my account, but that is not accepted.
Do you see any message about why your correct email id is not accepted? Have you used it on a different WordPress.com account?
