Changed Gravatar and now the site is gone
-
I’ve created a new site http://www.thegermanpa.com. I mapped the domain for $13. Then I realised that the website is linked to my other Gravatar @lilwoodworkers (I have another website on Weebly but this new one I wanted on WordPress).
So I created a new Gravatar @thegermanpa and now I can’t get in to it via http://www.thegermanpa.com/pw-admin. Or rather I get the brand new page to create a brand new site and WordPress is asking me do the domain mapping again. What do I do?
-
Hi,
Currently @lilwoodworkers is the administrator of http://www.thegermanpa.com/
Creating new gravatar @thegermanpa would definitely can’t get you logged in since it’s new account and has no blog/site owned.
You can use @lilwoodworkers to invite @thegermanpa as new user and assign the role to administrator.
How to invite user and assign role: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#adding-users-to-your-site

Hi @thegermanpa,
There seems to be some confusion between your Gravatars and your WordPress.com account.
But firstly, I notice that you have a typo in the link you provided. It should be http://www.thegermanpa.com/wp-admin. Could you please confirm if this is working. If not we will continue with the troubleshooting process.Cheers,

Thank you elte & olhayano for the quick response. Yes, I’m back in. BUT I wanted to keep both separate i.e. create this brand new website with a brand new Gravator. Unfortunately I realised too late. How can I get @thegermanpa to be the sole creator of the site separate from @lilwoodworkers, which is a complete different business?
-
If you want @lilwoodworkers to be the sole admin of http://www.thegermanpa.com/
– Simply logged in using @lilwoodworkers
– Go to people in your dashboard
– Remove @thegermanpa
Read more: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#removing-usersif you want @thegermanpa to be sole creator of separate site, simply logged in as @thegermanpa and create a new site.

Thanks elte. I want @thegermanpa to be the sole administrator of thegermanpa.com. Does that mean I’ll have to pay for the domain mapping again?
-
Then I realised that the website is linked to my other Gravatar @lilwoodworkers
As far as I understand;
@lilwoodworkers is the owner of http://www.thegermanpa.com/I’m afraid you can’t use other administrator (@thegermanpa) to delete the owner (@lilwoodworkers)
Unfortunately I couldn’t help with username change. I’ll inform the staff on this issue. Please subscribe to this topic from the sidebar to get notified once there is reply from staff.

Hello elte, thanks again.
I’m not trying to delete the owner @lilwoodworkers. I want to transfer the website I’ve created with the @lilwoodworkers Gravator to my @thegermanpa Gravatar WordPress site (without having to do the domain mapping again and paying for it again)? Hope that makes sense. -
Yes, thanks for the clarification. Only wordpress staff has access to change ownership and transfer the website.
-
Okay. Great. Thank you. So how do I get in touch with WordPress staff. I thought that was you. ;)
-
I’ve added ‘modlook’ tag at the sidebar. That’s how the thread will get moderator/staff attention. Please be patient since they received lots of support tickets.
WordPress staff has special tag/title under their username. I’m just helping voluntarily ;)
-
Okay. Thanks again elte. Much appreciated. I’ll wait and see what happens. Hopefully they’ll inform me.
-
@lilwoodworkers: I have sent an email to the address that we have on file for you to confirm the transfer, I’ll be happy to help out if you can reply from there. :) Thanks!
