Changed my custom domain name over, but still appearing with '.wordpress.com'
-
Hi there,
I bought ‘thefashionfitnessfoodie.com’ off Go Daddy for my blog yesterday. I’ve been following various steps to try and make it so that wordpress doesnt appear in the domain name.
Ive managed to make it so that if you type in ‘www.thefashionfitnessfoodie.com’ or ‘fashionfitnessfood.com’ it takes you to my blog, but when you arrive it changes to ‘.wordpress.com’.
How do I remove this? Is this something to do with my A Host settings on Go Daddy? As I couldn’t find my IP address to put into the section.
I have paid the £9 fee too.
Thanks,

It seems to me that you need domain mapping:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/The result of which is when they type in your custom domain-name it will map it to your WordPress.COM site without displaying the WordPress.COM url.
Quick steps
Add the domain by going to the Domains page and clicking “Map an Existing Domain”.
If you have pre-existing email services that need to continue to work after this switch (for example, you are already receiving email at (email visible only to moderators and staff)), enter the Custom DNS records by clicking the Edit Domain button and going to the Edit DNS section.
Update the name servers at your registrar. Enter these three separate entries:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Switch the primary domain in the My Domains page.
How quickly you see the change depends on your ISP and the “propagation”. Clear your browser’s cache if you have trouble seeing the change after 72 hours. -
Since you are using some sort of domain forwarding – you will need to disable all that junk or things will not work
