Changed my domain address, but not visible anywhere now.

    Or can I directly redirect my new site by not restoring the old one? because I have not lost any content so can I just redirect it then will it be visible on google again?

    Can you confirm the URL you would like to restore and redirect please? This will help to determine next steps.

    I wanted to ask one more thing though: If you recover my old site, then it will visible to everyone as before right? like it will go back to normal like it was before?

    If it’s possible, it would be back to as it was. It’s possible to hide the site though via Settings > Privacy.

    How much time will it take to recover the old one back? I will be willing to wait, but I hope it all comes back to normal as it was before. I am not considering the option of redirecting the site now. Let me know the process of how will you be going. After recovering my old one then it is up to me if I want to change the name or buy a domain or not right?
    I think you should restore my old site back first, then will see if I want to redirect or have to do anything further. Please do let me know the process and time that will be taken. I hope everything comes back to normal as it was before.

    Hello there,

    It looks like the address changed from https://worshiper07.wordpress.com/ to http://rabsbookishplanet.wordpress.com – once an address is changed, it’s not possible to use the old address.

    Apologies, you can go ahead and buy the redirect here:
    https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/worshiper07.wordpress.com

    Here’s what will happen with Google and other search engines:

    – Search results will still show the old site
    – When they visit the old site, they’ll be redirected to the new one with at “301” code
    – Most search engines will make note of that code and update your links over time, so that the new site will start showing in results instead

    Hoping that helps! You will want to go ahead and buy the redirect right away, though, as the old site is blank now.

    Thank you for your help! But, the link that you sent me for redirecting has no followers that I had before and it has no content. If I redirect this site, then it will show the results in my new one?

    So I should redirect my old one or the new one? If I redirect my new site that is https://rabsbookishplanet.wordpress.com/ then what happens to the old one? And in the recovered site, there is no content and followers, so it is completely blank.

    Hi there,

    You’re redirecting the address, not the contents of the site. So it doesn’t matter if your old site address has no content as when someone visits it, they’ll instantly redirected to your new address.

    Hello there,

    You can redirect one site to another, in any order you require.

    Whatever you decide, you should make sure you know which site you wish to work on going forward.

    So you can either redirect:

    rabsbookishplanet.wordpress.com to worshiper07.wordpress.com (in which case only worshiper07.wordpress.com will be visible to visitors)

    or

    worshiper07.wordpress.com to rabsbookishplanet.wordpress.com (in which case only rabsbookishplanet.wordpress.com will be visible to visitors)
