Changed my email, but still receiving notices at old address

Recently, I changed my email address on WordPress from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to (email visible only to moderators and staff) The change shows up in my account, but I am still getting notices to confirm subscriptions for a blog at the old address. But when I followed the link to confirm, I was told it couldn’t be done because it came from an email not linked with my account. So if the old email isn’t linked with my account, which it shouldn’t be, why am I still receiving notices at it? Baffled.

I checked our system and it seems you subscribed to this site while not logged in to WordPress.com, using the old email. When you try to confirm you are logged in with your new email address so you get the error. Make sure that when you follow a post you are providing the right email address. It is possible to follow a site even without a WordPress.com account, just by providing an email address.
