Changed my site address and now my stats are near zero – help!

    Hi there,
I decided my site address (scrimbrown.wordpress.com) wasn’t the best choice for my site, so I went through the steps to change it to comiclists.wordpress.com. The transfer went smoothly and all my old pages are still accessible, but my stats went from 200-300 page views a day to near zero. And there doesn’t seem to be any redirect on the old address to tell users who had me bookmarked where to find the new address.

Maybe I screwed up in making the switch; if so, I’d appreciate knowing how to get back to scrimbrown.wordpress.com. In the meantime, I wanted to know:

    – is there a way to set up a redirect so people arriving at scrimbown.wordpress.com will get taken to comiclists.wordpress.com?
    – will my followers still receive notifications of updates, and if so will they be sent to my new address?
    – since I could use a bit of publicity to get my stats back up to normal, is there any way I can increase my chances to get mentioned on Freshly Pressed?

    Thanks,
    M.

It sounds like you failed purchase a site redirect upgrade.

    7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/#instructions-for-changing-your-blog-address
