Changed my url but

only the old site name (url) appears in search engines but that old site name doesn’t work. How do I get my new web site name (url) to show up in searches and not my new one?
Thanks for all help in advance!

Oh dear! What was the old address? If you still own it, you can probably set up a redirect:
https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/It costs $13/year, and it includes a 301 redirect so that Google and other search engines will take note of the new name and update their links accordingly. Social media and other sites would likely keep the old links, so it’s worth hanging onto for that, but for Google alone, you probably wouldn’t need it for more than a year.
If you deleted it in the rename, let us know ASAP; we can likely get it back still and you’ll need that for a redirect.

The original address was angelenolurker.Wordpress.com
I believe I did delete it in the rename.
Thank you!

OK! That’s restored. You’ll see it’s blank.
But you can now add a redirect here:
https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/angelenolurker.wordpress.comThen any links on Google will redirect to the new url, and eventually Google will update its links, too.
Let us know if you need more help!

Okay, thanks! So I will have to make a payment? Will this expire at all? I probably won’t be able to make a payment for another week or so.

Site Redirect is a yearly subscription, so the $13 cost is per year. You’ll find all the details here:
