Changed my wp blog address – Now not accessible
-
I am a premium customer with zero tech skills. I clicked a link on my wordpress site that said something like “click here to complete . . . .”
It changed my wp blog address from ecuadorroses.wordpress.com to blog.ecuadorgalore.com. Now neither address will open in a browser but I can get to it via the blog dashboard.
Please advise on how to fix this remembering I have no idea how any of this works.
I do have the blog URL linked to other social media and when someone clicks to go to my blog they get an “Oops, could not find blog.ecuadorgalore.com”
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
For now, I’ve removed that subdomain and restored your free domain credit.
Do you own the domain ecuadorgalore.com? It’s registered with VOLUSION, INC. — did you buy this domain from them?
If so, I can advise you on how to use it with your site. If you didn’t buy it from them, then you can register a new domain through us that is available.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
I bought the ecuadorgalore.com domain with godaddy and then transferred it to my eCommerce business site ecuadorgalore.com.
Why do I need to have a registered domain with wordpress? Sorry, but I don’t really understand how it all works.
Thanks

Hi Scott,
You don’t! If you do own the domain, you can map a subdomain, which I thought from your original question was an accident, but now I think it’s what you meant to do. I’m sorry I misunderstood. :)
The step you missed is you need to have GoDaddy add a CNAME record to point the ‘blog’ subdomain to your ecuadorroses.wordpress.com URL. If you’re not sure how to do that, their support should be able to help you out. The CNAME should look something like this:
blog.ecuadorgalore.com. IN CNAME ecuadorroses.wordpress.com.
We have more information about this here:
Map a SubdomainOnce they’ve done that, you’d want to add the mapping upgrade on our end in Store->Domains exactly the way you did it before. Or just let me know, and I’ll put it back.
