Changed servers, lost database?

  • Unknown's avatar

There is a couple of things associated with this.
We had to change servers with our host to accomodate the new upgrade for wordpress. I also put our cwim site as an alias under our old site but everything is the same other than that. I transfered all the files over and everything is working other than our blog. I contacted them because of the 500 internal sever error and they said that looks as tho there is no database for the blog. I checked in the files and the sql is there.
Now , I do not know enough of any of this stuff to understand so I was hoping that someone could break it down for me. All files are there yet the blog is not.
It shouldn’t matter that the site went to an alias seeing that if you type it in, it still brings everything up the same correct?
I would be so appreciative if y’all could help me figure this out.
Also says that I no longer have a blog listed under me when I sign in to WordPress…that because of the database missing?
    Thank you,
    Sarra
